Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) is conducting high quality training courses in various facets of power systems since 1972. It is an established name in the Indian power sector.
PSTI is located in its own 18 acre campus with office buildings, Laboratories, hostel, Guest house, Canteens and Residential colony. The Institute is headed by a Principal Director.
History:In the context of acute need for
properly trained personnel to man the various state and regional load despatch
centres, Central Electricity Authority (CEA) which is an attached office of
Ministry of Power, Government of India established Load Despatch Training
With effect from 1stApril 2002, PSTI is merged with National Power Training Institute (NPTI) which is an ISO 9001:2000 organisation under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
Participants: Engineers from various state/central electricity utilities, power companies, power corporations, industries, and engineering institutions. Engineers from neighbouring countries are also participating in training courses.
Faculty:Well experienced field engineers, professors, and managers are drawn as faculty from Industries, Power Companies/ Corporations/Utilities, and Academic Institutes.
Training Methods: Lectures, Laboratory sessions, Group Discussions, Video, local & outstation study tours.
Laboratories: Despatcher Training Simulator, Computer, Relay Testing, Relay Simulation, Communication and Microprocessor Laboratories.
Lecture Hall: The air-conditioned class rooms are well equipped with the state of the art equipment such as LCD projector, Video Projector, Direct Projector, Slide Projector, OHP and Public Address System.
Hostel:The furnished hostel with recreation facilities can accommodate around 75 inmates.
Library:It has a rich collection of books, magazines, and journals on Power System, Computer, and Mathematics.
